Recommended pathway — Method Courses
Complete all six Method Courses before proceeding to the Executive Leadership Courses.
Begin with: the Featured IFM Futures Course.
Then complete: Community Consultation Method, Vinculum Method, TRAM, Futures Thinking Kite and SELECTIONS. This course is one of the six required Method Courses.
Community Consultation as Civic Intelligence
Community consultation is not a box-ticking step. It is structured, inclusive and purposeful engagement that enables communities and stakeholders to co-author decisions affecting their lives.
Book source: This course is based principally on Chapter 51, “My Journey Through Environmental Law and Community Consultation in Queensland,” pp. 326–337 of The Inclusive Futures Method by Dr Colin Russo.
This five-lesson course draws directly from Dr Colin Russo’s Queensland practice and The Inclusive Futures Method. You will learn to treat community knowledge as evidence, design equitable access, build visible feedback loops, connect consultation to all five IFM phases and turn lived insight into strategic foresight.
What you will produce
- A clear consultation purpose and stakeholder map
- An inclusive reach and accessibility plan
- A transparent feedback and decision pathway
- An IFM consultation matrix across all five phases
- A three-horizon consultation-to-action plan
